FENa Calculator

The fractional excretion of sodium (FENa) is the percentage of the sodium (Na) filtered by the kidney which is excreted in the urine. The FENa helps differentiate acute tubular necrosis from a prerenal state in a patient. The fractional excretion of sodium (FENa) < 1% usually indicates a prerenal state such as dehydration or other forms of prerenal azotemia. FENa's between 1% and 2% may be seen with either ATN or prerenal state. Estimate the value of fractional excretion of sodium using this online FENa calculator.
